Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to help reduce unwanted hair from various parts of the body.
Yes. Medical grade 4, FDA approved lasers are safe when used by properly qualified, accredited and trained laser therapists. Our laser emits a wavelength of 755nm which is ‘non ionising’ or ‘non harmful radiation’.

The Candela GentleMax Pro medical grade 4 laser system contains the 755 Alexandrite laser and the 1064 NdYAG laser. The Candela 1064 nm NdYAG laser will treat darker skin types and the Candela 755nm Alexandrite laser is best for the lighter skin types and received 1st Place ATnT Choice Award for BEST HAIR REMOVAL LASER for skin types I – type III. The GentleMax Pro system combines the choice of two cooling systems to reduce discomfort and minimise side effects. The GentleMax Pro system is FDA approved (USA Food and Drug Administration), is included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and has ISO Certification that guarantees the highest possible quality standards worldwide.
Once a hair follicle has been successfully treated, it will not return, however there is no laser or IPL machine that can claim permanent hair removal. Our Laser will provide PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION. Results are dependant on the individual and may vary due to skin type, tanning, hair colour, medications or hormones, varying considerably between people and in each person between areas. Laser and IPL can only target active hair follicles creating heat within the hair follicle damaging the cells that enable hair growth. It cannot be legally claimed to provide PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL due to unpigmented hair and the possibility that some dormant follicles may become active in a later stage of life.
No. Devices claiming permanent hair removal can be purchased on the Internet for as little as $600. The industry is flooded with inferior unapproved devices claiming to be lasers. These machines will not give you long term permanent hair removal / reduction and if incorrectly used put you at a high risk of serious side effects. Laser hair removal clinics can operate in Victoria with any device claiming hair removal and their staff don’t have to be qualified or accredited to perform the procedures. We recommend you research and choose your hair removal clinic very carefully!
On average 4 to 8 treatments are required. It is impossible to pre-determine the exact number of treatments as they vary from person to person. Generally speaking the thicker and darker the hair the better the results from the treatment. On average 3 to 5 treatments are required in order to see noticeable results, with at least 80% hair reduction. Some clients may require top-up treatments in years to come. Laser Lounge provides free, no obligation consultations where an experienced technician will discuss a treatment program suited to your individual requirements..
The majority of people treated don’t experience side effects and return to normal activity immediately without any adverse sign of treatment. Few experience mild redness or mild swelling that on average lasts for an hour to 24 hours. In rare instances redness can last longer and some people have experiences mild grazing which dissipates over a short period of time.
Some people have found the treatment uncomfortable. Most people find it more tolerable than waxing. It is likened to the flick of an elastic band on the skin which dissipates quickly. Approx. 10% of patients require anaesthetic for their treatments. Beware of clinic’s that advertise ‘pain free’ or ‘virtually pain free’ treatments. Laser and IPL technology both work by damaging the hair follicle. If the intensity is too low you will not get optimum results equaling more treatments and more cost.
A 50% deposit is required to secure all appointments. We require 24 hours notice if you no longer require that appointment or you will forfeit your booking deposit.
We understand that sometimes you may need to change your booking. We kindly request 24 hours notice so that we can free up the time slot for online booking and/or offer that time slot to another client. Your deposit will be held for your next booking. However, if you don’t provide us with 24 hours notice OR you fail to turn up for your appointment OR you no longer need the entire appointment duration, OR for some reason within your control you cannot be treated, you may send a friend or family member in your place, or your booking deposit will be forfeited.
LATE CANCELLATIONS (or reschedules) within 24 hours of the appointment start time - we reserve the right to charge 50% of the appointment price as a late cancellation fee
LATE CANCELLATIONS (or reschedules) within 3 hours of the appointment start time - we reserve the right to charge 100% off the appointment price as a late cancellation fee
In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, all or part of your cancellation fee may be applied to future services.
NO-SHOWS - a no-show is where a client does not attend a scheduled appointment. In the event that a client does not turn up to a scheduled appointment we reserve the right to require the client to prepay 100% of each future appointments at the time of booking appointments. In the event that a client does not turn up to a scheduled appointment we reserve the right to charge 100% of the appointment price as a no-show fee.
When you schedule an appointment with us we hold that exclusively for you and request that you make a note in your calendar and notify us as soon as possible your plans change, if you are unwell or if you no longer want to keep the appointment or any part of the appointment. We understand that occasionally things come up and happen in life and even though it will affect our business we won’t be upset with you. In return we ask that you respect our time and our booking policy and not expect us, our team members or other clients to be disadvantaged because of your ‘change of mind’ or because life happens!

The treatment area needs to be cleanly shaved at least 24 hours before your appointment. If we need to shave you it will be at an additional cost of $25. Do not wax!
Avoid the use of Retinol in the treatment area for 1 week prior
No direct sun exposure on treatment area for 4 weeks prior to appointment and for incidental sun exposure, please allow 2 weeks before your appointment
Avoid fake tanning and self tanning moisturiser for 2 weeks prior to appointment
Avoid using solariums for 4 weeks prior to appointment
Avoid skin treatments such as chemical peels, resurfacing or skin needling for 2 weeks prior
Avoid peels for 4 weeks prior

If you book for a larger appointment please give us at least 24 hours notice if you do not want the entire appointment time. We kept that time for you and were unable to book another client who may have wanted the time slot, so we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for the service time that you late cancelled.
We provide pre and post treatment advice in writing at the time of booking. If you forget or ignore this advice we reserve the right to charge a late cancellation fee.
